2015 Chicago Polar Plunge

It might look like Lady Gaga and her fiancé are about to be freezing to death by bathing in Scotland's coastal waters considering the weather and the background music, but if you pay close attention you'll notice the typical American skyscrapers of Chicago in the distance and opt for the icy Lake Michigan.
Indeed last Sunday, the 15th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge took place on North Avenue Beach raising $1.1 million for Special Olympics Chicago, thanks to more than 4,500 people including celebrity guests such as Lady Gaga or Vince Vaughn.

The charity has been supported by Special Children's Charities since 1969 and was created by Jack McHugh. It is committed to promote, foster and encourage physical and mental health improvement for children and adults with disabilities, and cooperates with the Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools and Special Olympics Illinois.

Seems that the bucket from the infamous Ice Bucket Challenge that went viral in summer 2014 has had in fact a way bigger competitor for several years.
